Solid curly makore wood with slightly curly maple veneer panels. Blackwood accents. Makore is a stunning but highly allergic wood to work with in my case….never again!! Compound mitered corners were fun as was the overall joinery. It has a tung oil base, rubbed out shellac finish 6 coats, and a coat of paste wax. Inside was prefinshed before putting the box together. Hope you like it, enjoy.

Very nice piece! Looks like you had fun with the compound mitered corners...they look flawless.
Thanks for the comment. I did stress over the corners before making the first cut but it turned out 99.8% perfect the first time. Plenty close enough for me !! A little wixey gauge helps nail a 44.1 deg cut easily. Money well spent for this project.
