This spalted maple chest measures 38″ x 22″ x 24″. The top consists of staves (bent laminations) coopered and joined to form a top that is curved from end to end and front to back. The dovetails had to be hand cut, since the sides of the chest slope inwards by 3 degrees from bottom to top. This gives the chest a solid grounded look.
