My own design after much research of old and recently built shaker pieces. I wanted a slightly contemporary feel to a classic design, I’m happy with the results. The diamond blackwood accents are a real hit with friends, they just have to touch them. The “book matched” drawers are really one consistant strongly grained piece with one side flipped around to face the other. The top is 1/4 sawn cherry but the rest is flat sawn. The arched piece under the drawers I had originally as 1/4 sawn too but somehow the straight grain did not work with curves of the drawer grain, they worked against each other somehow so I replace it with a non descript piece and it’s much nicer imo.Hope you like it.
