You should be very proud, that is a nice product you've made! Any homeowner would be proud to have that on their house.
Thank you. There is much more to the piece. A "hidden' poem to thank the tree, a log book showing how the door was made piece by piece and the finish is done with a type of Danish oil to best be able to feel the true beauty of this old growth douglas fir. Yes the owners love it. It was a lot of fun to build, particularly the joints.
Simply wonderful.
WOW!!!!!!
As I was examining the picture of the door, I was thinking to myself: this is what someone can create when they're not just "woodworkers", this is the work of a true artist...... Then as I scrolled down to the comments section and I read your words: a "hidden" poem to thank the tree..... A wood poet, indeed you are.
Your door is truly a piece of art. It beseeches to be looked at, to have fingers and hands feel its texture, its different planes and surfaces and to draw your nose just next to it to inhale it's essense.....
What type of finish did you use besides the Danish Oil? Seems the inserts are darker. Have you ever done any Screen doors like this? Would like to see them if you have. Great job!!
