Nicely done. Love the use of bamboo instead of the more traditional wood for a workbench. Thanks for sharing.
What's it like working on and working with bamboo? I assume it's pretty rugged? -Gina
GEide; The Bamboo ply I used for this was fall off from a cabinet job, that I built 200 bath vanities with, a crash course in bamboo.
It machines very nicely, however, whe routing, the material can be very unforgiving and the sawdust, is huge (fluffy grasslike).
As far as for the bench, this bad boy is sturdy, it repaced an 8/4 oak bench, and is holding up very nicely.
The box of drawers is removable (ballast really).Probably in the neighborhood of about 300 pounds.
Would do it again.
