I built this kitchen in my current house, using spalted white ash for the cabinet faces and door & drawer frames, and pallets for the panels. The ash was removed from the interior walls of a summer kitchen attached to the house, and the pallets were picked up for free at a local second-hand building supply store. I went through a lot of planer knives…. There was no stain used on the project, just a satin clearcoat. The pallets were tropical wood, and inlcuded various types such as purpleheart, bubinga and even rosewood. Carcases are made of paint-grade maple plywood with knots cleverly avoided or hidden. I also made the countertops, which are concrete. Since these photos were talen I have repainted the kitchen and bought new appliances, so it looks much better now!

Beautiful cabinets! They are similar to what I was thinking of doing - great inspiration. Only one "criticism" ... when you get a few bucks ...... stove needs to be black!
When you say you have "repainted the kitchen" did you
mean you covered up all of this nice wood?
Nice Job.
I just repainted the walls, to a colour other than seasick green....and yes, the new appliances are black.
These are some beautiful wood kitchen cabinets. What type of wood are they made from?
