Hutch, milk-painted with cherry counter
A friend of mine saw a version of this in a store, but needed a slightly smaller one to fit his dining room. The maker wouldn’t oblidge, so he said “help” and handed me a Xerox image of it. I went to the store and stared at the display model for half an hour trying to remember every detail. I then sat in my car and furiously scribbled notes on the photo copy. It’s made of milk-painted poplar with a cherry counter. The upper part can be detached for easier transport. It fit perfectly in my friend’s dining room. Then he moved.

Yo Chuck. I'm quite new to this site but I'm already recognizing your work! Where do you find the time? And them pictures plenty good. Well done.
Just saw your comments on shaker design. Thanks for the info. I am a South African, so not as close to Shaker as you. I have studied the style though and made some pieces in my career as woodworker.I'm sure if you look at my "Contemporary table", you will recognize Shaker origins? This little table is just Shaker on acid!
That is SO nice!
Good job... thank you!
