Tool collection chest
I built this tool chest to hold some of my favorite tools. I love to collect, use and restore all types of tools and building this chest was a bit of a challenge, because I have a basement shop and couldn’t get the materials down or up the winding stairs. So I built this entire tool chest with a circular saw! I mounted it upside down on a piece of 4×4 plywood top and sat it on some saw horses. I used a piece of angle iron as a fence and a good carbide blade. All the homemade moulding was furring strips made into moulding with a homebrew router table. The finish is thinned down varnish and applied with a rag. aout 4 coats with light sanding in-between. The doors open “TWICE”. =) I even had to “make” the pegboard out of particle board and a drill so I could have the border I wanted. Anyone can make this chest it was really simple and holds lots of tools! Oh yeah- It’s on large 5 inch castors too!
