This wall begged for enhancement as it was vaulted and all one color over drywall. The marble on the hearth and around the fireplace was just lost. I chose cherry as my wood of choice for the project. Part of the paneling is cherry veneer applied directly to the drywall and the bookcase body is cherry plywood. The rest of the project is all solid cherry with a Pennsylvania Cherry stain and multiple coats of gel varnish. The project started in January and laste through the end of April working on it evenings and weekends (Not shown are matching cherry window surrounds and baseboard). All the wood trim in the living room and dining room were replaced with cherry. The room is now much warmer and inviting.
