I designed with my husband. Used beadboard to give a victorian country look. My husband did the heavy work and most of the building while I did the light work on this. It was a combined effort to give us more storage in a small house.

This looks good, thanks for posting. This is one of the few examples of built in shelves where the walls on the side of the fireplace are not recessed. This is the same issue I have and I am looking to build similar shelves.
