This modern closet was designed for the entry of a house that my brother and I built.
The overall dimension is 9’h x 4′ 6″w. The doors are 8′ high and are asymmetrical. The door on the right is 14″ wide and the big door on the left is 40″ wide. The brushed copper detail acts as the handle.
The doors are hollow core and have 4 giant SOSS-type hinges that are fully adjustable. I used bamboo and a man made veneer that resembles maple pommelle.
I used red dye on the maple veneer and red and black dye on the bamboo veneer. The finish is a pre-cat lacquer
The clients are modern art lovers and the design was a collaborative effort with them. It was inspired a bit by the woven metal sculpture that hangs on the other side of the foyer.
