Heather’s Hutch
Built in hutch/ wine rack built to match Dale’s bar (see other post) the top is a single piece of old growth birch salvaged from lake superior with an absolutly beautyfull flame pattern on top of oval shaped grain a true joy to work!
uprights for wine rack are 8/4 live edge mahogany cut from the same slab. all other parts of wine rack are hard brown maple with bubinga inlay
all shelves are resawn 12/4 hard maple bookmached from one board edged with a very gray piece of old growth birch set on bubinga brackets. The shelves appear to float thanks to an ingenius adjustable system that needs no hardware or pins to move around. and no unsightly system holes to blemish the grain of the mahogany, just some exposed joinery at the back of the shelf.
