I recently closed off an unused pass through door. Instead of simply sheetrocking the opening I decided to incorporate a built-in book shelf. Instead of books, it now holds all our DVD/CD’s. You can never have too much storage space.

i've done this same project. it's a great idea!
i actually did 3 of these (floor to ceiling) in a big farmhouse with lots of kids and a riding academy to run.
one in the bathrooms, for towels, and two in a long hallway.
it's why my ultimate house will have some walls with 2x8 studs.
