Modular Barrister
A friend asked if I would build him a unique storage unit for his insane comic book collection – one that his wife would allow in the house. The 5 cabinets and the 2 molding pieces stack up and a lock together with simple cleats. 100+ mortise and loose tenon joints. I paid lots of attention to the “movement” in the grain.

Nice work. What did you use for door hardware?
Thanks a lot. There's a slot in each side up to about 2" from the top. They hang on pegs from that remaining 2", if that makes sense. Get me at [email protected] and l'lI send some detailed pics. It worked really well. The method also makes so you push the top and the bottom pops out to give you a place to open it from. No "handle" hardware needed. They swing out and then slide back into the cabinet, like most barrister doors.
