Winged Chair
I recently completed this experimental, winged rocking chair. The body of the chair is fabricated from dozens of small triangular pieces of wood (about 1 1/2″ long on each side). After cutting each triangle, I used a jig to glue and dry them in lengths. Then, I used biscuits to create wider and longer surfaces for the body of the chair. The “wings” are made of water color paper, and fastened with snaps to a moveable cherry armature. The rockers are steam bent cherry. The wood surfaces are lacquered.
