Boston Bombe Chest
The chest’s case sides and drawer fronts were hand shaped from a solid 12/4 board of African Mahogany, 24″ wide and 12′ long. Secondary parts are made of poplar, hard maple, aromatic cedar. Drawers are made with hand cut compound miter dovetails. Feet are ball and claw. The drawer sides are shaped to match the exterior bombe form.

This piece is absolutely exquisite. I could stare at this for hours. Fantastic job.
Bill,
Tasteful, handsome, graceful, superbly executed -- not enough adjectives in the English language to express this amazing work. I am constantly amazed at what a person can do with one 12/4 board. You have defined what many of us hope to achieve.
Wow! The colors are fantastic, and I can't help but comment (my first one), so congratulations on a beautiful piece.)

WOW, this is absolutely wonderful. I've always wanted to make one of these. WOW! Where did you ever get the 12/4 African Mahogany plank? What's the beeding made from? This is just beutiful.
All of the pieces are very good. However, this chest is the most fluid of all of the designs. Additionally, the workmanship is superb. Of course, we cannot see closeups of all the detail but it is truly gorgeous. The finish too is unbelievably attractive.

I feel the same as others here. All the entries are excellent. This piece, however, stopped me in my tracks. I just stare at it. It's the most beautiful chest I've ever seen.

I am honored to win first place when there are so many beautiful and well executed pieces in the contest. Thanks to everyone who voted for my chest, and thanks for all the flattering comments.
By the way, I got the 12/4 plank of mahogany from Colco Fine Woods & Tools in Memphis, TN.
Beautiful piece of furniture. I was looking to buy one like it, but can't find any. Just wondered if you provided plans for this piece.
