Now this my friend, is very creative and attractive. I am giving you credit for making the wooden clock as well.
Beautiful solution. I would love to know more about the hinges.
Hello Glenn,
The 'picture frame' of the assembly started as 8/4 rock maple and after milling, it was 1.75"; I also added a wide shallow chamfer for looks. This I glued (along with biscuits) to the 3/4" solid maple carcass sides. An important note: the side walls of the cabinet are angled in ~15° to accommodate the swing. The back is ¼” maple veneer plywood. This cabinet is attached to the door frame via a piano hinge. Finally, in the lower left corner, out of view, is a brass sliding bolt to lock the “door” in place. Hope this helps!
Best Regards,
Peter
