Window and Maple Table Cabinet
I am interested in the history of pieces and like incorporate that into what I make. The door is a casement window from a 1920’s house in MA and the beautiful maple top is from an old wrecked table probably from a similar period. My goal was to showcase these two things, especially the maple because it has such a great petina, so I built an inexpensive carcass from fir and painted it so you are drawn to the top and window. All the glass is old and wavy (including sides). All joints of carcass are hand-cut mortise and tenon. Shelves and back are 3/4″ maple plywood (shelves with solid antique maple fronts). The cabinet is about 40″x32″x14″
