Rice Paddy Inspired Cabinet
I enjoy experimenting with finishes. The inspiration for this piece came from a drawing of a rice paddy. This built-in cabinet is made from oak. I applied shellac to the entire piece to seal the wood, then masked the design. I sandblasted it to remove the shellac, removed the tape and ebonized the sandblasted area. Then I stained the entire piece. I finished it with a wipe-on poly.

This my friend, is really awsome.
Very nice work. I like the asymmetric design.
This is wonderful work!!!! As an artist, My eyes always go to nature for inspiration and it can be very difficult to translate what is already there, (rice paddies) into something more spendid than the "real view". You have mastered this in your piece! It is truly an inspirational piece. KUDOS. MANY TIMES.
Very Cool. Excellent craftsmanship. Love the design. Weird but excellent.
An extraordinary amount of work but the result is extraordinary. Beautiful.
