Mannerist Mission Buttoned Cabinet
A cabinet for storing sweaters, built in white oak, set into a supporting red oak frame. The panels on the upper section are slats of of white oak held apart by paduk buttons set into button holes in the slats. Why you would want or need gapped slats in cabinet is an open question I ignore. I simply liked the pattern it created. In order to carry the line of the door stiles through the drawers I ended up with a cheat for doing half blind dovetails. This is one of a series of cabinets built like an old truck with a frame cradling the cabinet carcass. The cabinet is finished with 3 coats of wipe on polyurethane

A thoroughly excellent design. I urge you to re-photograph it. I almost missed it zipping through the gallery and it would easily have gotten into that most recent "best-cabinet" contest.
Great work! I've never seen anything quite like it and I like it alot. I love the style of the whole thing. You have very good taste and even better skills. Thanks for sharing.
