The Big Leaf Maple was a Vancouver city tree milled by a friend of the IP school. I got a small off-cut from a classmate’s project and took it home with me where I made this little box. This maple was a joy to plane, too bad I didn’t have more to do so 🙂
This project is a more simplistic one but maintains the level of work and care as any other.

I have always admnired this simple design for a box. Candle boxes were often made in this manner in colonial times. Because it is such a simple, yet classic, design, I think the choice of wood is perfect -- and very attractive. Well done!
