I designed and made this music stand for my wife who is a violin teacher.  Since we have both been professional musicians for many years we have seen plenty of stands that look great, but don’t function well.  My goal was to create an aesthetically pleasing stand that could hold up to professional use.  To accomplish this, I employed the use of spring loaded brass mechanisms (also by my design) which I created on a mini metal lathe.  The mechanisms provide a solid indexing system for the tilt and height adjustments that is sure to last.  Since making this one for my wife, several of her students have purchased one.
