This Advent Table was constructed entierly of 3/4″ Walnut. I started w/ a small sketch from my client , who was donating it to our church. From there I made a 1 1/2″= 1′-0″ scale model, where I discovered some area that would cause concern during construction. I then made a fullsize mock-up w/ 3/4″ plywood. this showed more areas of concern. I hardily suggest this path when doing any large project.

The Table’s base is 18″ square, top is 22″ square, and is 45″ tall. The base is finished w/ three coats of Bartley Gel Varnish, and the top is finished w/ six coats  B G V & two coats of Minwax Paste Wax. Total hours 131, not counting sleepless nights trying to figure out the solution to the next problem.
