Endtable with built-in Japanese lamp

The top is removable to access the compact flourescent bulb as well as swapping out the front frame so that different wood and Japanese paper combinations can be used.
An incandescent bulb wouldn’t work because it would warp the wood.
I am a big fan of Japanese, and Danish Mid-century modern, so I kind of combined both.

I like your end-table-lamp. The Leg frame is my favorite part of the design. The finish is very nice. I imagine this piece would look equally nice a just an end-table with the space occupied by the lamp being a storage area, perhaps with cubbies, for books, magazines, etc. Where does the power cord go?
Thanks! The power cord comes out the back of the table. There is a wooden frame that slides out, similar to the one in front. In the center of it is the light bulb on the inside and the power cord coming out on the outside.
And actually this was just an endtable before I built one with a lamp in it. Its what gave me the idea for this.
