Oak Corner Lamp
This is a corner light or sconce I designed and built based on a Frank Lloyd Wright clerestory window. It is a Christmas present for my son who is in college. It will go in the corner of his bedroom above the nightstand.
The two sides which show are made of 1/2” oak and the two sides which go into the corner of the wall are 1/2” plywood. The openings are backed by a rice paper shade material. It is light by 2 – 60 watt equivalent (13 watt actual) compact fluorescent bulbs.

RANDELL,
I THINK YOUR SON WILL GET LOTS OF POSITIVE COMMENTS ON THIS PIECE. VERY NICE EFFECT. DID YOU USE A SCROLL SAW? KEEP IT GOING, GOOD WORK
GRAYDOG
I actually used a hand held electric jig saw and filed/sanded the edges down "to the line". It was time consuming but the end effect was worth all the hand work.
Thanks for the comment.
I love this lamp. I want to make one similar to it. Wright is one of my favorites everything he designed came right from the heart.Your son is a lucky guy to get such beautiful stuff I am sure he will cherish it forever.
