Walnut Sconces
This is a pair of sconces I designed and built for my daughter and her husband for Christmas.
As they live out of state, we celebrated Christmas with them yesterday. The last photo was taken right after they opened their gifts (me in the middle). I think they were pleased.
The sconces are made of walnut with a rice paper/styrene shade material. Each sconce has two 13 watt Sylvania micro-mini CFL bulbs. The sconces are 25 1/2” tall, 5 1/2” wide and 7 1/2” deep.

Hi Rip - Can I ask where you got your rice paper/styrene?
The shade material is from The Lamp Shop http://www.lampshop.com/ and is item no. R280 White Rice Paper – by the YD. They also have other shade materials.
You can also visit my web site http://www.randallprice.com to see a podcast of assembling a lampshade using this material.
Thanks,
Randy
Very nice idea, and very nice!
Very nice! It almost has a feeling of "Frank Loyd Wright meets oriental". Simple and very stylish. My wife would go nuts over these. Take care!

Agree with HTHSSNTHTSHT. Had to do a double take because of FLW/ Greene & Greene similarity.
Very nicely done.
