I promised my son and daughter in law a bassinet about six months before the birth of their first child. I was stumped for a design but while out on a run one afternoon, I thought about the jungle theme for his bedroom and I came up with this idea. When Jonathan outgrows this as a bassinet, I will make a padded top and it will be used as a toy box that you can sit on and ride.

The piece is built from solid ash and finished with Tried and True. The eyes are large marbles. The piece is held together with sliding dovetails and can be easily disassembled without tools. Don’t worry everything is held with sliding jointery to accomodate for wood movement.
