Coffee Table
My wife asked me to make her a Coffee Table for Christmas. I thought that this would be a nice easy project to spend some time on, so I asked her if she had any ideas about the design. She said in fact she had seen a “beautiful table” in a magazine and produced a picture of Paul Schurch’s Ribbon Table that she had found in one of my design magazines from Fine Woodworking. I had to explain that I really didn’t have the expertise to produce something of that nature as I had never veneered before and had only very limited experience at bent laminations. But, my wife asks for so little I thought that I would give it a try and so 172 pieces and 2 1/2 months of my spare time later it was finally finished and with 2 days to spare!

I want to be the first to comment on this project. I can tell you put your heart and soul into this present and you deserve a round of applause. I hope you are proud of yourself as this is an advanced project and for someone who has limited experience with bent lamination and veneering you did a wonderful job. Keep up the great work.

Wow! that is such a beautiful table Eric! I can't let my wife see that. I know i don't have the experience to get that done yet but i know it will be the next thing on her Honey do list if she saw it. Great, great work!
Beautiful, very nice. You must have a happy wife.
Nice job Eric
And remember - happy wife, happy life.
