Hanging Tool Chest
Made with Asian Lauan and Baltic Birch Plywood. It was my first and last experience with the Lauan; the veneer was only .015″ thick, about the same as three thicknesses of tissue. Just one light pass with a handplane while trimming the case finger joints and I was through to the very loudly contrasting 2nd ply.

Very nice!
2 questions, what are the dimensions? Also, I can't see from the photo; what's in the cubbies above the drawers?
It is 48" tall, 30" wide and about 15" deep. The cubbies are for my planes, I lined the bottoms with outdoor carpet to protect the blades.

Nice piece! Do you have a picture of it closed? Just finished a cabinet for my planes. Doesn't quite come up to your standards. I used felt for lining the bottoms. Was able to pick some up that had adhesive backing at a craft store.
Blackcherry, I made this unit a few years back, you can find the plans in FWW Winter 2006/2007 issue no. 188. Its a great looking storage unit Jcumper...thanks for sharing
This cabinet looks very much like what I want to build. I would love to see more thorough pictures so I could get a better look at it.
I will say one thing, I also have used Luan plywood once but never will again, either. I cringe whenever I see it recommended.
Again, great cabinet.
