Every once in a while, Hank Gilpin takes time away from designing and making amazing furniture, landscapes – and even bridges – to see what’s possible on a smaller scale. All of these trays and shallow vessels were crafted from just a few ounces of wood. “Here’s a scrap you would normally burn,” he says, “what can you do with it?” Apparently, plenty.
