Le Coeur Heureux – The Happy Heart
This is a cradle I made for my new granddaughter that is modeled on a lapstrake hull dinghy. It is about 48″ long and 20″ wide. It has planking of Honduras Mahogany, trim in Balck Walnut and copper riveted throughout. I named it Le Coeur Heureux – The Happy Heart because I can think no better wish for my granddaughter than to have a happy heart.
Another personal note is that the dining table the cradle rests upon is the one I finished just in time for my daughter’s Christening party. Now her daughter’s cradle is displayed on it.
The table was featured in FWW Design Book Two, 1979, Page 122 (B)
