Walnut poka-dot stool/side table
This stool was constructed entirely of scrap walnut. The leg consists of small walnut scraps which were ban sawed into discs then glued together with the wood grain running in the same direction – then turned into a pleasing shape on the lathe. The length of the scrap strips dictated the diameter for the seat. The seat and the leg were constructed separately then joined with screws. The poka-dots (plugs) came from scrap wood of various species. If there is an interesting portion of any piece of wood I come across –it is put to use – even if it is just for a couple of plugs. To increase the strength/stability of the stool a ½” threaded rod was added. The base (cast iron Christmas tress stand) was a cool find at a yard sale.

Interesting design, and definitely a creative use of scraps and reclaimed parts.
Would you call this a "measle-ly" stool? ;-)
I love it. You know how to have fun. Great workmanship and a great attitude.
