Biscuit-Joiner Jig for Safe Slot Cutting
Designed by Paul Ruhlmann
High school shop teacher Paul Ruhlmann designed this jig for safer slot cutting for box joinery–It’s perfect for his students because they can cut slots for splines in mitered boxes and it’s safer than using a tablesaw jig.
This jig uses a shopmade attachment that’s affixed to the face plate of a biscuit joiner. It’s then used to cut slots for splines in mitered boxes. The jig is safe because both hands must stay on the tool handles, away from the cutting blade.
