reclaimed pickle barrel red wood bed and side tables

I love working this wood. Just below the ruff exterior is all this beauty. I used the outside edge of the pickle barrel for the head board, and only surface just enough to expose the color. I Wanted the bed to look like it was made from an old barrel bottom. It really is something to see what happens to red wood when it’s been used for years to make pickles.

That is a super clean looking bed. Well done. Do the backboards actually pierce the corner posts?
