Plum and Purpleheart Bandsaw Box
Bandsaw box designed by Lois Keener Ventura. Made from alternating layers of Wild Plum and Purpleheart. The handles are Purpleheart also.
I enjoy making bandsaw boxes. Most designs are from the books of Lois Keener Ventura. Any of her books are a great resource for patterns and techiques for making bandsaw boxes.
This box is made from a Wild Plum tree and Purpleheart with purple flocking in the drawers. I like the way the colours balance each other. The finish is tung oil and paste wax.

Inside of Drawers which I covered with purple flocking. The color was mixed up from red, blue and brown flocking fibers.

Back of the box. I liked the natural look of the knot but didn't want it showing in the front so I placed that board in the back.

I will be attempting my first flocked box, (andromeda from Lois Keener Ventura. Any lessons learned that you would like to pass along for flocking? I am cncerned about getting the adhesive coating thick enough.
