These two boxes are a matched set; Walnut with oak splines and leaf vein, and Oak box with walnut splines and leaf vein. Approx. 5 by 8 inches, hinged with hidden steel pins, hand rubbed poly finish. More like this at www.johnschutz.com

Very cool. Small issue: walnut leaves are compound leaves, the single leaflet on the walnut box is but a part of a larger leaf. Still, very nicely done.

Thanks, robbo41. You are, of course, right about the walnut leaves, but there was no way I was going to have multiple leaves all over the top of the box. Some types of walnut trees have quite a number of leaflets in one group.
