curly koa and african mahogany keepsake box, hand cut dovetails with tapered sides at 3 degrees, i went to kauai hawaii to buy the koa since its not available on the mainland. the koa is ultra premium instrament grade and the mahogany is quartersawn no powertools were used on this box

I've lived in Hawaii and look forward to going back within the year. I didn't get into woodworking until after I moved back to mainland. Only worked with a bit of koa I've brought back on trips too.
What a beautiful box, especially all handwork. Love the curly that's visible in the limitations of the pictures.
