Too cheap to use solid figured Maple so I veneered. Can almost see bookmatches.
This is the first piece of a bedroom set for my wife. Made from Walnut and maple. Of course FW ran the matching woods article after I got this done! You know, the one that says do not mix walnut and maple.
The figured Maple does shimmer but does not show up too well in the photo.

You have to explore design on your and your main audience, your bride has probably found the piece to be priceless. She problably can't wait till the other pieces are finished. Hey - what are you doing browsing this website, shouldn't you be in the workshop finishing the project.
