Guitar Stool
The stool frame is Padauk, and the seat, guitar supports, and foot rest are all carved from a solid piece of Oregon Myrtle wood. I wanted a stand for my guitars, AND a place to sit and play, and this was my solution. The stool is 16″ x 16″ x 30″, the finish is lacquer on the frame and 4 coats of a custom tounge oil blend on all the myrtle wood.

This is a great idea! Very nice design and execution. Two birds with one stone. I may have to steal this design concept and build a couple of these for the guitarist on our church worship team.
Great concept! I am a guitar player and a woodworker myself. very nicely done!
Well done. I've just started to teach myself to play guitar and I'm always leaving it in stoopid places. You've got a good idea there.
Very nice....good design
Very nice! I am thinking about building one for myself as well and a similar design adapted from the Farley Stage player. I'm more into classical so likely about 21" to the seat and then use a foot stool. Also considering a back support...
I'm jumping on the wanting to steal the design bandwagon. I often end up sitting on the front edge of my Limbert's armchair (like a morris chair) with the back of the body of my guitar banging away on the wooden arm rest. That's a nice looking guitar too.
I LOVE this stool. Do you have the plans for sale or would you share them for me. I would love for my son to make this for our daughter. Thank you for your time. (I joined JUST so I could ask you about this, please forgive me if I am not doing this correctly).
Hi, I stumbled across this site looking for a guitar stool to buy. Any chance you'd be willing to let me commission one of these for purchase? Or, I'm not a woodworker but if the plans are available maybe I could find one to help me out. I realize this is an old post but thought it was worth a shot. This is by far the best stool I've been able to find (nice work!).
