George Washington
Table made from reclaimed heart-pine floor boards from George Washington’s god-daughter’s home, the Bowie-Sevier House in Georgetown. Wood is believed to be from Washington’s Mount Vernon farm. We know George Washington liked to dance, and he more than likely visited the home of is god-daughter in Georgetown where he likely danced. I like to say George Washington danced on my table.

Solid, classic design using appropriate (if somewhat exotic, in this case ) wood. Very nicely done.
Great story. It's wonderful that we can build new things with instant histories, yes? This is one of the good ones.
Thank you for the comments. The table is very special to me because my Dad helped me glue-up the top. I was also a Project Manager on the home the heart pine was reclaimed from, the most exciting and interesting construction project I have ever worked on.
