butcher block

This is a butcher block island I built for my daughter. Except for the plywood drawer bottom all this wood was destined for the landfill. Its all made from hardwood, maple, oak, walnut. I finished it with 3 coats of clear finish and for the top about 20 coats of mineral oil. I took the design from a number of islands I found on the web.
