BischoffBoatworks is finely operational
Here are some photos of my newly completed boat shop. It took 3 years to get the city to permit due to liquification zone issues (earthquakes). But I am now operational. The shop is primarily built to build a 30′ wooden schooner. The big white floor is painted plywood temporarily placed over car decking over concrete. The plywood is used to loft (draw out) the boat full size in order to make patterns. The jointer, planer and primary band saw are set mid shop so I can run 25′ timbers thru. The dimensions are roughly 32×55, 16′ ceiling height. Electric heat, fully insulated, 12×14 door, 24″ thick foundation w/14,000 lbs of rebar (again… liquification zone). I also put in a bathroom with shower. The walls of bath are portraits of me done by my mother (family humour). One band saw is for milling and one is for detail work. One bench is for basic work and one bench is a planking bench (with associated chisels, knee vise, etc).

I've never had any interest in boat building till I saw your shop. I hope you will post a lot of pics as the boat progresses, including drawings and templates and if I might be so bold as request an invite to visit during the build that would be as cool as it gets. Thanks for posting.
Clean shop. Better make it dirty with wood and glue.
Nice shop. Where is the boat?
Awesome! I live in Seattle as well. I would not mind checking out your shop in person sometime. If you need an extra set of hands sometime let me know.
