Mahogany Pie-Crust Tea Table
This is a pie-crust tea table done in Mahogany. The pedestal features ball and claw feet and is fully carved in the roccoco style commonly seen in Chippendale style furniture. The base also features a floral design carved and applied to the pedestal between each of the three legs. The top sits on a birdcage assembly and tilts as well as rotates so that a cup of tea may be poured and passed around the table. The piece is stained with aniline dyes and finished with garnet shellac. Additionally, the table was glazed to highlight the carvings.

Very nice, I like the carving and the top tips too
I have always found the concept of these tables hard to stomach. My shortcoming. But it detracts from appreciating the beautiful, detailed work that went into this piece. Really nice. I like the no-holds-barred traditional approach.
