Coffee Table
The legs of this table were subtlety shaped to give the piece a natural flow, without being too over powering. The top was resawn out of a big plank of mahogany that I had been saving for just the right project. This piece gave me the opportunity to resaw it and display it’s beauty appropriately without having to run a profile or an edge detail around it. The dark bead around the top and the bottom of the apron was used to give the piece a classic finished look. I used the two complimentary color tones to balance the piece aesthetically and to draw more attention to the wood grain in the top, and the apron. The reversed arch apron was used to help draw the eye back to the legs. The shelf underneath helped the piece be more practical, functional and balanced.
I really enjoyed making this piece, and I hope you like it.
