Attic Bed
OK, I’m a bit nervous about posting this. It’s the first bit of furniture I’ve ever made. My son’s bedroom is not exactly large and he needs more storage. The answer is an attic bed. I used American White Ash and have finished it with Boiled Linseed Oil. The steps are deliberately wide; partly to allow him a bit more room to get in and out and partly to line the edge of the steps up with the wardrobe that I’ll be building to go underneath. Because of the need to build to a non standard size (slightly shorter than normal) it was actually chaeper to buy the timber and the planer/thicknesser than just buy a bed.
The design is based roughly on the Mission Style Bed that Matt Berger made in the online videos and I pretty much copied his build method.
Hope you like it.

Ah, I see we had similar ideas in crafting beds for our children. I too found it much cheaper to buy tools and materials instead of buying a bed outright.
Well done. I think this is an amazing first piece and effort. I bet your construction will hold up better than the store bought equivalnet.
Great Job!
Well Done, Bet he will love it!!
Does it come apart for transportation or is that a "whoops" should a thought of that before I started problem?
Keep up the good work.
