adjuster for crosscut fences
I have this adjuster on both sides of the fence on my chop saw and also on a miter gauge for my table saw. The adjuster is held in place by a dovetail that is routed into the top of the fence and is locked down by a locking screw that presses on to the top of the dovetail. The fence is 8 feet long on either side of the chop saw. The unit is hinged so it can be moved out of place for other cutting and then rotated back into place and never loose position. The positioner is based on a ¼ -20 screw and nylock nut so there is no backlash in the lead screw. One rotation of the lead screw equals .050 of movement of the adjuster so it is very easy to make fine adjustments.
