Tool Box : apprentice piece in oak
Well if an architect can do an aprentice pieece at 50!. I based them (one for the Mrs and one for me) on the ubiquitous design with machine cut dovetails on the drawers. Oak and Maple with oil / wax fininsh and hugely expensive fittings imported to the uk from Gerstner.
Trickiest bit was installing the spring pins that hold the front panel closed. You have to do this with box assembled so there is not much tolerance to play with. Resorted to a plunge router iin the end.
I found the Veritas plan is a useful reference for some interesting construction details / methods for installing the small drawers.

I always wanted to make one of these. I have my father's big red Mac toolboxes from the 60's. Very functional, but not anywhere near as beautiful!
Well done.
