Very nice, I really like them.
What did you do to accomodate for the outside edge of each tile to prevent dirt and crumbs from getting under the area wood meets tile?
I really like the contrast between the wood and tile. The details underneath the table are really nice too.
Is the top wood solid and you carved for the tiles, or is there some plywood or secondary wood under the tiles?
No all the mullins ( sp) are made with a rabbet on both sides and joined to the perimeter frame with mortise and tennon jonery. The space around the tiles is about 1/32 of an inch to allow for a replacement if needed or to change the entire look of the table with new tiles as that are all standard sizes. Pulling the tiles to clean is easy also.
