Krenov-Inspired Cabinet
I saw another version of a Krenov-inspired cabinet in FWW, built by Michael Swift, and its elegance moved me to build my own. Primary wood is White Oak, with Cherry panels in the doors and Hickory in the frame-and-panel back, and with contrasting Walnut slats in the stretcher. The motivation was the wonderful Krenov design, combined with the practical need for someplace to house my single malt scotches!

I'm afraid I've always found the Krenov thing to be a little precious for my taste - elegant cabinets for the discrete display of elegant possessions. However, your creation of a Krenov liquor cabinet (a step into a world I can understand) has given me hope. Nice work.
It looks great, I've always wanted to make this style of cabinets I have the wood but nowhere to put it once it's made!!!
Could always keep my planes in it?? Lol
Ps how many hours did it take?
To Simonchef: I didn't count the hours, as I worked on it a few hours for most days between early August and the end of September. I would estimate about 80-90 hours.
I plan do do something like that one of these days.
