Slide Shows
I have suspected for a while that there is an easy way to post a slide shows to the web but I didn’t know what it was … I had a pretty mellow day today so I took a couple of hours and figured it out .. It is, actually, a snap, once you spend a little time with the program …. And, if you are a professional woodworker, it could become a very handy tool. You can easily post links on your website or just send them to prospective clients in a response email …
I think to communicate a sense of depth and variety of work there is probably nothing more immediate and grabbing than a parade of projects, both completed and in process flashing by full size on the screen. I’ve got a slide show scrolling across my website homepage that sort of annoys me by now, but it’s there to stay I’m afraid …In these slide shows, the viewer can easily control the length of time the images are shown on the screen. The photos above are all from this slide show link on my blog.
Even though there are over a hundred images in that show, you can move through them almost as fast as you can click with your mouse … The resolution and speed of display is amazing … Plus, these images were uploaded at my standard blog size of about 1000 pixels wide … The program allows even bigger images and I’m pretty sure it would be just as fast at the larger size …
There are a couple other slideshow links and instructions on how to get and use the program written out on my dorset custom furntirue blog … The picasa program that I used is free from google and downloads quickly … There is also an excellent help video on line… After you figure it out, you will be amazed how little time it takes … Good luck …
Also, if you go to my blog, there is a post of many photos of an amazing house we are currently working on with a builder friend … All for now
